内容简介

作者简介

　　IknowthatmanypeopleareworryingaboutstatebanksnotmembersoftheFederalReservesystem.ThesebankscanandwillreceiveassistancefrommembersbanksandfromtheReconstructionFinanceCorporation.Thesestatebanksarefollowingthesamecourseasthenationalbanksexceptthattheygettheirlicensestoresumebusinessfromthestateauthorities，andtheseauthoritieshavebeenaskedbytheSecretaryoftheTreasurytopermittheirgoodbankstoopenuponthesamescheduleasthenationalbanks.Iamconfidentthatthestatebankingdepartmentswillbeascarefulasthenationalgovernmentinthepolicyrelatingtotheopeningofbanksandwillfollowthesamebroadpolicy.Itispossiblethatwhenthebanksresumeaveryfewpeoplewhohavenotrecoveredfromtheirfearmayagainbeginwithdrawals.Letmemakeitclearthatthebankswilltakecareofallneeds—anditismybeliefthathoardingduringthepastweekhasbecomeanexceedinglyunfashionablepastime.Itneedsnoprophettotellyouthatwhenthepeoplefindthattheycangettheirmoney—thattheycangetitwhentheywantitforalllegitimatepurposes—thephantomoffearwillsoonbelaid.Peoplewillagainbegladtohavetheirmoneywhereitwillbesafelytakencareofandwheretheycanuseitconvenientlyatanytime.Icanassureyouthatitissafertokeepyourmoneyinareopenedbankthanunderthemattress.
