内容简介

　　呼啸山庄这个故事发生在18世纪末19世纪初的—个英国小镇上。小说的开始是老希斯克里夫家的房客洛克乌德先生叙述的自己亲身经历的事情。然而，随着故事情节的发展，洛克乌德结识了希斯克里夫先生家原来的老仆人艾伦(耐莉)·迪恩。迪恩太太向他讲述了这个从多年前就开始的发生在呼啸山庄的错综复杂的故事。通过这个长长的故事，洛克乌德发现了希斯克里夫和一个神秘的叫凯瑟琳·恩萧的女子之间的旧情。凯瑟琳·恩萧还是个小女孩时，就和其父收养的养子希斯克里夫产生了深深的感情。然而希斯克里夫和凯瑟琳的感情却历经重重磨难，二人最终也未能结合。这种充满激情与痛苦的悲剧故事贯穿了两代人，故事发端多年以后，希斯克里夫家的这位老仆人迪恩讲述了这些悲剧爱情故事。
